Handling E-mail Groups -  Managing Addresses & Bulk Mailings.

Outlook Express -
Setting up E-mail Accounts to reflect details other than those of your ISP.
Let's suppose you have a Domain Name - yourcompany.com - and you wish to have mail sent and delivered through it to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) - say MSN.com -.
It would make good sense to have your Domain Name host deliver your domain based mail to your ISP E-mail box where you could easily retrieve it.
Ask them to route mail to your ISP mail box.
It would then also make very good sense for you to use your Domain Name in your E-mail address rather than promote your ISP's name all the time.

So... instead of proclaiming yourself to be joe444@msn.com  and advertising that in your ads, stationery and outgoing E-mails, you could be joe@yourcomapny.com  and so promote your own Domain Name.
Further, should you ever decide to change ISP, you won't be bound to them on account of having their address associated with you out in the marketplace. You will not have to change your published address, just change where your domain host sends the mail - to your new ISP!

Firstly, let's set up an Outlook Express E-mail account.

There is no need to change any tabs content beyond "General" if everything is already working well

What we will do here is set the E-mail to have your own E-mail address associated with your own Domain Name, rather than promote your ISP based E-mail address.

  • Open Outlook Express:
  • Select:
  • Tools
  • Accounts
  • Default E-mail Account
  • Properties
  • General Tab
  • "type a name by which you'd like to refer ...etc"  Say: Steven's Account
  • Name   say: Steven King - Your Company Limited
  • E-mail Address  say:  steven@yourcompany.com
  • Checked "Include this account when sending or synchronising mail"
  • Close all dialogue windows.

Now let's add an account for Someone else on your Domain and PC:
(What we are doing now is adding another user, but using the same mail box and servers at your ISP to send and receive E-mail.)

  • Open Outlook Express:
  • Select:
  • Tools
  • Accounts
  • Mail Account Tab
  • Add
  • mail
  • Display Name...  say: Ann King - Your Company Limited Next...
  • Check.. I already have an E-mail Account
  • Add.. ann@yourcompany.com    Next...
  • Server Names:  Pop3, SMTP,
    • Pop = mail.???.net    SMTP = mail.???.net
    • Here add the servers as supplied by your internet connection Company (ISP) If you don't know this Information, close the window, exit the setup wizard, select the default E-mail account, properties, server tab and copy onto paper the pop and SMTP info from there.
  • Account Name:  as supplied by your ISP
  • Password  - as supplied by your ISP
  • Check  Remember Password   Next...
  • Finish
  • Now you are back at the "Internet Accounts" Window.
  • Click the new entry
  • Properties
  • Type a name by which you'd like to refer ...etc"  Say: Ann's Account
  • NOT Checked "Include this account when sending or synchronising mail"
  • Close all dialogue windows.
  • As long as you only change this information you may add as many accounts as you wish without creating errors.

Additionally, If you have a Webmarkworld.com Hosted Domain Name, Our mail servers have been configured to send all mail addressed to that Domain Name, to your ISP mail box. This will happen without you needing to set any more accounts, although you may wish to set up others just like "Ann above"

Do the things above, then send yourself  some tests.

This system works well, and we have used it in thousands of instances.

Much good info is also available in the Help screens of Outlook Express, though it may be a little wordy?.
